Introduction

ATLAS.ti Web is the brand-new, fully web-based version of the powerful qualitative data analysis software. Now that you analyze your qualitative data online, conducting teamwork is easier than ever with ATLAS.ti Web’s live collaboration features. Multiple people can work together on the same project in real time, and ATLAS.ti Web will automatically save and update the project. Choose your project, invite your team members, and everyone can work on the project from their own computers. ATLAS.ti Web keeps track of the author of each new entity (document, quotation, code, etc.), so you can easily keep track of who did what.

How does it work?

  1. Go to the Project Settings of the project you want to share
  2. Click on “+ Add new project member” and enter the person’s name and email (you can also write them a personalized message)
  3. Click “Send invitation” and wait for their confirmation
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for each person you want to invite to your project
  5. That’s it! Now all of you can see and work on the project from your own ATLAS.ti Web accounts

You can collaborate in real time with others

Your projects are automatically saved and updated in the moment, so you can collaborate in real time with others! Research conducted in teams has been moving knowledge and science forward for centuries, and with the growth of online tools, more people all around the world can enjoy the many benefits of teamwork. When people work as a team, they can often better overcome complex problems, and they can develop innovative and creative solutions. Teams can also be very effective for tackling large and/or long-term projects, as the group can benefit from the diverse strengths of each team member. In addition to this, individuals can learn from each other during the group work, and the social support is invaluable for making the research not only more manageable but also enjoyable.

To make the teamwork easier, we also suggest that you and your team agree on a clear teamwork protocol: overall goals, what each person’s role is, and so on. A memo provides a perfect space to note down this information. That way, each person will clearly know what they need to do in the project, and you can also use memos to keep a “bulletin board” of notes and comments between all the team members.

In the future, you will also be able to see who is currently working on any given part of the project. For example, if you are working on a document, and another person is working on the same document at the same time, ATLAS.ti Web will also show you that that person is there, and you will be able to see any changes they are making in the moment. And remember, you can always export your ATLAS.ti Web projects and continue working on it from the desktop versions, ATLAS.ti 8 Windows/Mac, to take your analyses even further with the full range of tools from ATLAS.ti.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming features that will provide you with even more details about your teamwork, and meanwhile we hope you enjoy collaborating with others in ATLAS.ti Web!
