Reporting a Technical Problem or Bug

If a technical error occurs during operation of ATLAS.ti the user is offered a comfortable way to provide information about this problem to our technical support staff. Along with an error log, some technical information about the computer, OS settings and content of ATLAS.ti-related folders is compiled into a special file.

This report file should be sent as an email attachment to the ATLAS.ti Support Team. For your convenience, the default e-mail client will be automatically launched and a message composed. Your system report file is already attached and ready to send. Use the message body to provide a detailed description of the error and the circumstances under which it occurred.

The contents of this report file can only be interpreted by the developers of the program and is of no use to others. No personal data or project information is transmitted!

ATLAS.ti 7 (Windows)

  1. Make sure your installation is updated to the latest available service pack. Run the Live Update from the Help menu.
  2. Select Help | Tech Support Info | Create and Mail Report. This is a single file with the extension “.AtlRep”
  3. ATLAS.ti launches your default email client and creates a new message addressed to an ATLAS.ti support address. The report file created is already attached to the message.
  4. Add a detailed description of your problem in the mail body.
  5. If the file was not attached for whatever reasons, attach the report manually. It is located in the user system path (a file with extension *.atlrep) and can be easily accessed from within ATLAS.ti via menu option Tools | Explorer | User System Folder
  6. Send the report and your description to [email protected].

ATLAS.ti for Mac OS X

  1. Make sure your ATLAS.ti installation is updated to the latest service pack (via menu ATLAS.ti | Check for updates).
  2. Create and send a system report via Help | Send Feedback. The report is automatically attached to a mail message addressed to [email protected].
  3. Add a detailed description of your problem in the mail body.

ATLAS.ti Mobile for the iPad
