Welcome to our February newsletter. We wish everyone a very happy new year, and may you have a prosperous and positive 2021!
This month, we are excited to share news on our newly optimized sentiment analysis, which is now not only available for ATLAS.ti 9 Desktop (Windows and Mac), but also in ATLAS.ti Cloud. It makes it easier than ever for you to examine the positive, negative, and neutral tones being expressed in your data. We are also finalizing the import project feature in ATLAS.ti Cloud so that you can soon move seamlessly across the ATLAS.ti Windows, Mac, and Cloud platforms.
The launch of ATLAS.ti version 9, ATLAS.ti Cloud, and the new online license management system were all important milestones for the ATLAS.ti team. Now, we have big plans this year to build on this strong foundation we set in 2020. Just this month in the ATLAS.ti Academy, we have published a new series of video tutorials, so that you can learn more about the already intuitive and easy to use software from the comfort of your home. - Our goal is always to help you focus on your research, not become a software specialist.
We are also thrilled by all the positive feedback concerning ATLAS.ti version 9 and the very positive feedback we have received from users about ATLAS.ti Cloud. In particular, users are continuously congratulating the user-friendliness of ATLAS.ti Cloud and how intuitive it is to use this online version. From feedback and our own analysis, we see that people can learn how to analyse their data in ATLAS.ti Cloud in just 20 minutes! We also see that many UX researchers, designers, and product developers are already harnessing ATLAS.ti Cloud for their own work, and we are delighted by the overwhelming positive feedback from UX and market researchers who have found ATLAS.ti Cloud to be a great companion for their research.
Even if you ever do feel that ATLAS.ti Cloud cannot meet some of your more specific research needs, you can count on our flagship versions of ATLAS.ti Windows and Mac. The desktop versions of ATLAS.ti were made by researchers for researchers, so it is the most intuitive software to pick up but with a variety of additional functions that open up even more possibilities for your qualitative data analysis.
We're here for you if you even want to call us!
Stay safe and confident!

Learn how to harness ATLAS.ti for your literature reviews in our live online course
The literature review is an essential part of just about any research project, and you may have quite a lot of experience with conducting literature reviews, but did you know that ATLAS.ti can also facilitate your analysis and synthesis of the literature? Dr. Neringa Kalpokas and Ivana Radivojevic have developed a brand-new course to teach how the various tools and features of ATLAS.ti can be harnessed for the literature review, and on March 16th, 17th, and 18th, we will hold our live online course. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn how you can take advantage of ATLAS.ti to elaborate a rigorous and compelling literature review.
Workshop on ATLAS.ti 9 Windows and Cloud in the 3rd Annual Forum of the Association of Behavioural Research Analyst and Psychometrician
This February 8th-12th, the Association of Behavioural Research Analyst and Psychometrician held their 3rd Annual Forum in the University of Ilorin, South West Nigeria. The ATLAS.ti Team provided an online workshop to show conference participants how they can utilize ATLAS.ti 9 Windows and Cloud for their research. We were pleased to collaborate in this event and help behavioral researchers learn how to make the most of the software to facilitate their qualitative data analyses.
1st Virtual ATLAS.ti User Meeting in Colombia held in collaboration with the ATLAS.ti Latin America team
With the collaboration of the ATLAS.ti Latin America team, the "1st Virtual ATLAS.ti User Meeting in Colombia" was successfully held last November. The Institute for Prospective, Innovation, and Knowledge Management at Universidad del Valle, one of our partners in Colombia, was the main host of the meeting, which included an opening event with presentations by specialists in the field of qualitative research, followed by three weeks of basic ATLAS.ti workshops. This meeting was the starting point for the generation of a permanent space for the expansion, diffusion, and teaching of ATLAS.ti throughout Colombia and Latin American countries. More details about the opening event can be found here.

Best Practices
Conducting sentiment analyses in ATLAS.ti Cloud
Understanding people's reactions and evaluations is a common goal in research, and this is why analysing the positive, negative, and neutral sentiments expressed in data can be so valuable. ATLAS.ti now has an integrated tool that uses artificial intelligence models to automatically analyse the sentiments expressed in text data. In this month's best practice article, we show how you can take advantage of sentiment analysis in ATLAS.ti Cloud.
Case Studies
Award-winning research project by Dr. Ani Munirah and her research team
We are excited to share a recent project carried out by Dr. Ani Munirah Mohamad, one of our most prolific ATLAS.ti trainers in Asia. Her research team conducted a study on the cyberbullying laws in Malaysia with a comparative analysis of other jurisdictions, an award funded by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Dr. Munirah and her team utilized ATLAS.ti Cloud for collaborative interviews analysis in generating the findings. These findings could bear
important implications for the Malaysian regulators and policymakers in developing the legal protection for cyberbullying victims. In this article, Dr. Munirah shares the strategies employed by her team in harnessing the awesome features of ATLAS.ti Cloud as an effective collaborative
qualitative analysis tool.
