Welcome to our June newsletter!
We are very excited to announce that the new generation of ATLAS.ti is right around the corner! This summer, we will launch ATLAS.ti version 9 for Windows and Mac, which supports academic research, market research, and user experience research. The new version includes a whole new array of analysis tools and visualization features, such as a new coding dialogue that integrates and facilitates the full range of coding features, an even more sophisticated quotation reader that makes data exploration easier than ever, a novel range of analysis tools that include automatic entity and sentiment analyses, beautiful new Sankey diagram visualizations, and much more!
On the other hand, ATLAS.ti Cloud continues to grow with a brand-new reports page for querying your data and generating bar charts and code-document tables to explore your coded data. See our Best Practices article for more tips on creating reports in ATLAS.ti Cloud.
Please remember, you can always count on our support to help you acquireand make the most of ATLAS.ti, so please call us (freeof charge) or write to [email protected] if you ever have any questions about continuing to work and conduct your research from home. Finally, we are happy to extend our special discounts for another month, and we hope this helps during these difficult times.
Stay safe and enjoy your summer!

News
The newest generation of ATLAS.ti coming soon - Version 9!
The ATLAS.ti team is dedicated to providing a one-stop solution for all your qualitative data analysis needs, which is why we always strive to build a comprehensive research workspace that adapts to qualitative researchers' evolving needs. We are delighted to launch version 9 of ATLAS.ti this summer after having developed many brand-new analysis and visualization tools. The powerful analysis and teamwork capabilities, for which ATLAS.ti has always been renowned, have been further strengthened, and we are eager to introduce this next generation of the software that supports academic research, market research, and user experience research.
Learning to use ATLAS.ti is easier than ever. You do not need to be an expert of the software, because you will always have helpful information at your fingertips. You will be able to access all of our news and video tutorials directly from within the software, so you can always find the answers to any of your questions in the moment.
Edit text documents, include paragraph numbers, and save PDF versions of your documents with the codings showing in the margin area on the right-hand side. ATLAS.ti 9 will let you structure and present your analyses in whichever way you prefer, so that you can easily share your findings with others.
The new coding dialogue integrates inductive and deductive coding features, so you can flexibly carry out your coding according to your methodology. You can also easily see code comments, which is the perfect space to write code definitions. ATLAS.ti 9 thus gives you everything you need to code your data with consistency and transparency.
ATLAS.ti 9 offers a powerful and innovative range of auto-coding tools that make qualitative data analysis easier than ever. In addition to searching for specific terms and automatically included synonyms, ATLAS.ti 9 can search for entities such as people, organizations, locations, events, works of art, languages, political parties, book titles, and much more. Instead of entering a search term, you simply tell ATLAS.ti what information you are interested in, and ATLAS.ti will go through your data and find entities for you.
You can also search for sentiments to analyze whether participants are expressing positive, negative, or neutral reactions across your data. In other words, you can quickly and easily examine how participants are responding and make fine-grained comparisons among the different sentiments.
Data visualization is a great way to simplify the complexity of understanding relationships among data. ATLAS.ti 9 can visually display these patterns and trends across your data with beautiful Sankey diagrams. Today, Sankey diagrams are used for presenting data flows and connections across various disciplines. Sankey diagrams give rich interactive visualization, resulting in attractive graphics for information materials and effective visual data exploration practices. You can show complex processes visually, decide whether you want a higher-level overview or focus on more specific details, easily see relative magnitudes and areas with larger contributions, and generate interactive views in combination with the code-document and code co-occurrence tables. ATLAS.ti 9 puts this tool in your hands, so that you do not need a graphic artist for creating beautiful visualizations of your results.

ATLAS.ti conducts the Dortmunder Methoden Werkstatt (again!)
ATLAS.ti proudly sponsors the Dortmunder Methoden Werkstatt at the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany. A range of courses are offered on interviews, focus group research, grounded theory, ethnographic research, how to best get through your PhD, and computer-assisted qualitative data analysis taught by Dr. Susanne Friese. You can find more information here .

Best Practices
Generating and downloading reports in ATLAS.ti Cloud
ATLAS.ti Cloud has a brand-new section dedicated to generating and exporting reports. In addition to the data query features ATLAS.ti Cloud already offered, you can visually explore the frequencies of your codes and how they are distributed throughout your documents. You can use code distribution reports to explore data linked to each code, and you can create code-document tables to examine where in your data the different codes are appearing.
Case Study
Analyzing research data based on the constructivism paradigm using ATLAS.ti
This month, we share a case study authored by Aanuoluwapo Opayinka, a Certified ATLAS.ti Professional Junior Trainer. Aanuoluwapo Opayinka is a lecturer in the field of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria). Her interests are in innovation platforms, evaluation of research and development programs, and gender.
