A Word from ATLAS.ti CEO, Thomas Muhr

Thomas Muhr
Chief Executive Officer, ATLAS.ti

Dear researchers,

In view of current developments, we are confronted with new realities worldwide. This naturally also affects working life, research, learning, and teaching. From my conversations with many of you, I know that everyone, individuals as well as institutions and organizations, are currently facing extraordinary challenges. As students, researchers, employees, and managers, we have to make new decisions every day to protect our communities, friends, employees, and colleagues while at the same time successfully pursuing our tasks and projects.

Many of you have asked how ATLAS.ti is facing this global crisis and how we are helping employees to continue working together productively and efficiently. I would therefore like to give you an overview of the tools that ATLAS.ti can provide you and your teams.

Like us, you may already be working from home, organizing academic or commercial research, and learning virtually, or you will soon be doing so to stem the further spread of the coronavirus. Many universities, colleges, institutions, and organizations have experience with remote work too, but only a few to the extent currently required. Due to our globally active trainers and staff, ATLAS.ti has been working remotely for a long time already. For many years now, we have been offering a range of ATLAS.ti learning courses in online formats. In addition to learning how to use the software, we also offer combined courses on methodology of qualitative data analysis and using the software. You can find all of the learning opportunities we offer here. Some of these courses are now available for free.

We are aware that you are currently having to cancel important events and personal meetings and are now considering virtual alternatives. Many people, institutions, and organizations are already using our many and highly frequented free webinars to exchange information in real time. We will soon be adding more intensive learning opportunities, both free and premium, so that you can learn about the range of ATLAS.ti solutions (for Mac, Windows, or Web), as well as qualitative methodology in a way that is tailored to your needs and keeps you secure at home.

Cohesion and mutual support are now more important than ever. If you need further information or assistance, please contact us. We will be happy to help you. Our international telephone support centers continue to work and you can still call us there worldwide and free of charge; or write to [email protected] any time. Under this address, we also answer questions about using ATLAS.ti under new infrastructure requirements (e.g., server installations, work-at-home) and gladly help you with project data transfer and flexible licensing solutions for uninterrupted program use.

I wish you all the best as well as calmness and confidence.

Thomas Muhr
Chief Executive Officer, ATLAS.ti
