INSIDE ATLAS.ti November 2019

Jörg Hecker
Director of Business Operations ATLAS.ti

Welcome to our November newsletter! We hope you all had a spooky Halloween, and we are excited to share our latest news with you.

We were delighted to sponsor a variety of events on ATLAS.ti and qualitative research all around the world, from the 4th World Conference on Qualitative Research in Portugal to the inauguration of the first ATLAS.ti Lab in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Our Latin American team was also invited to an international conference in Mexico.

This month, we are hosting our biannual free Train the Trainer sessions with our Certified ATLAS.ti Trainers from all around the world (this time, in Spanish!). We look forward to connecting again with our trainers! Finally, we have a brand-new article of our exclusive sneak peek series by Dr. Susanne Friese as well as an interview with Professional Trainer Dr. Oscar Armando Castro López.

Enjoy!

ATLAS.ti Gold Sponsor at the 4th World Conference on Qualitative Research

On October 16th-18th, we were proud to be Gold Sponsors at the 4th World Conference on Qualitative Research in Porto, Portugal. Dr. Neringa Kalpokaite (Manager for Europe) gave two practical demo sessions in which conference participants learned how to use ATLAS.ti for their qualitative data analysis needs. People came to the conference from over 30 different countries, and there was great interest in learning about ATLAS.ti. We are also delighted to announce the lucky winner of a free perpetual ATLAS.ti license: Congratulations, Justyna Spychalska-Stasiak! Justyna is an assistant professor in the Department of Research Methodology and Discourse Studies at the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz (Poland). Her scientific interests focus on academic construction of knowledge and scientific discourse. We hope ATLAS.ti serves you well in your research!

Inauguration of the first ATLAS.ti Lab in Buenos Aires, Argentina

After the successful inauguration of our First QualitativeResearch Laboratory sponsored by ATLAS.ti at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica, Paraná, Curitiba, Brazil, we are now in the process of inaugurating the First ATLAS.ti Lab in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in partnership with FLACSO Argentina. This will take place in Buenos Aires on November 13th and 14th. At the event, which will also serve to inaugurate the Argentina Network of ATLAS.ti Users, participants will discuss the use of software in qualitative data analysis, and the role of ATLAS.ti in supporting social science research in Argentina. Also, basic and advanced ATLAS.ti workshops will be taught on those two days. To register (to attend in person or through Facebook Live), please click here .

ATLAS.ti Latin America team visited Mexico City

On October 8th and 9th, the ATLAS.ti Latin America team was a special guest at an international research conference that took place at the Centro Interdisciplinario de Investigaciones y Estudios sobre Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo-CIIEMAD . Papers were presented that included discussions on the application of ATLAS.ti in social science research in Mexico. Introductory and advanced ATLAS.ti workshops were also taught. The event served to establish the basis for the inauguration of the First ATLAS.ti Lab in Mexico in 2020. More information on this is forthcoming.
