INSIDE ATLAS.ti September 2019

Jörg Hecker
Director of Business Operations ATLAS.ti

Welcome to our September newsletter! In this edition, we are happy to share our newest learning materials and courses. You can now learn ATLAS.ti from the comfort of your home and according to your own schedule by attending our e-learning (asynchronous) course, now offered in English and Spanish!

We are also launching the first of our series of "Insider look" articles, written by the author of the book "Qualitative Data Analysis with ATLAS.ti," Dr. Susanne Friese. In addition to this, we will be hosting a new free webinar on using ATLAS.ti for Grounded Theory analysis. Finally, you can meet members of the ATLAS.ti team at various conferences around the world: we were just in Manchester for the ESA conference, and next we will be in Porto for the WCQR conference and then in Curitiba for EDUCERE. Come to the conferences and attend one of the workshops given by our core training team!

We wish you all a wonderful start to the new academic year!

Grounded Theory with ATLAS.ti - Free Webinar with Susanne Friese, October 4

Do you want to conduct a Grounded Theory (GT) study and analyze your data using ATLAS.ti? In contemporary books on qualitative methods, you can find pointers and references to computer-assisted analysis, but little on how to translate manual ways of going about analysis to a computer-assisted way. It seems as if it would be self-explanatory. In this workshop, you will see how to implement grounded theory analysis with the support of ATLAS.ti. What does "coding" mean in a computer environment? How can GT open coding or axial coding be implemented? How and with what type of tools can memo writing be integrated? Thus, you will learn how the various aspects of the methodology can be translated into software tools. Register here for the webinar on October 4th, 6:00 PM CEST.

New online course! Learn How to Use ATLAS.ti at your Own Rhythm and Pace

We are happy to announce a new self-paced e-learning course of ATLAS.ti 8 Windows in English. Learn ATLAS.ti at your own pace, through a combination of written material, interactive graphics, and video tutorials. The course covers reflections on methodology, setting up an analysis project, segmentation and coding, the integration of writing and visualization tools into the analysis process, exploring and analyzing the data qualitatively and quantitatively, and producing outputs. As you take the course, you can interact with the instructor and other course participants through adiscussion board. See a synopsis of the course. You can register here.- If you have any questions, contact us by writing to [email protected].
