Welcome to our June newsletter! In this issue, we are happy to announce our participation as gold sponsors of the "2019 IPSA Summer School" in FLACSO, Mexico. We have been happily supporting the summer school since last year and we are now providing half scholarships to two lucky participants. In addition to this, a brand-new publication of our prolific senior trainer, Dr. Susanne Friese, is coming out in the SAGE Handbook of "Current Developments in Grounded Theory," where she discusses computer-assisted analysis and grounded theory. Finally, we have once again implemented new updates and functions in ATLAS.ti Cloud which you can try for free! More is on the way soon!
Enjoy!

ATLAS.ti official sponsor of the "2019 IPSA Summer School" in FLACSO - Mexico

For second year in a row, ATLAS.ti will be the official gold sponsor of the "2019 IPSA Summer School" in FLACSO - Mexico. The Summer School on Concepts, Methods and Techniques in Political Science is organized by FLACSO Mexico and the International Political Science Association (IPSA). Starting next June 10th, experts in quantitative and qualitative methodology from different fields will meet at the FLACSO headquarters in Mexico City. ATLAS.ti will be giving a workshop on qualitative methodology and the use of ATLAS.ti on June 18th and 19th. In addition to sponsorship, this year we made a further contribution by providing half scholarships for two participants. You can find moreinformation about the event and registration to the ATLAS.ti workshop here.
Article by Dr. Susanne Friese now featured in new SAGE publication

The SAGE handbook of "Current Developments in Grounded Theory", edited by Antony Bryant and Kathy Charmaz, has just been published. It also includes an article on computer-assisted analysis, "Grounded Theory Analysis and CAQDAS: A happy pairing or remodeling GT to QDA?" written by Dr. Susanne Friese, our Product Specialist and Senior Trainer.

More new updates to ATLAS.ti Cloud (beta)
We are continuously working to optimize ATLAS.ti Cloud, the fully web-based version of ATLAS.ti, and we have recently incorporated even more new updates. You can now merge codes, change the color of code before adding it in analyze mode, edit a created code when clicking on it from a document, the pattern for renaming entities has been improved, clicking on a code in the overview page will redirect you to the filtered quotation explorer view, and you can export your project, quotations, and codes to Excel. We hope you enjoy using ATLAS.ti Cloud beta for free, and please don't hesitate to share your ideas and suggestions in our feature roadmap.
Best Practice

Depending on their needs, researchers can apply their methodology by using (or ignoring) a variety of functions and features of computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software (CAQDAS).
The very insightful article by Dr. Vanessa Wijngaarden expands on the most common applications of ATLAS.ti in different data analysis approaches.
