As every year, ATLAS.ti GmbH sponsors the 2015 Berliner Methodentreffen at the Freie Universität Berlin (July 17-18, http://www.qualitative-forschung.de/methodentreffen/index.html). The BMT is the largest gathering of its kind in Europe. Social researchers from several countries and a multitude of academic disciplines will be exploring the current state of qualitative research in a set of lectures, working groups, and workshops.
ATLAS.ti will be centrally represented in the conference with an exhibition booth and with a free introductory workshop. At the booth and throughout the event, representatives will showcase the latest developments and introduce forthcoming innovations. These include new features in the highly successful Mac version as well as a sneak preview of the brand new ATLAS.ti 8 for Windows (due out later this year).
The 4-hour introductory workshop will be held by Fabian Singelnstein of ATLAS.ti GmbH. It offers a full overview of the central concepts and procedures, as well as hands-on training in the practical use of the software. Participants will be guided as to how to best use ATLAS.ti for their own projects. Instruction will be loosely based on the participants’ research areas and concrete interests, and will utilize real-life data material for demonstration. Topics covered include: Data formats, project creation, coding different data types, commenting, creation and use of memos, introduction to network views (visualization), creation and use of hyperlinks, analysis tools, data export and reporting.
The workshop takes places Saturday, July 19, 1pm, and is free to conference attendees. See here for location information.
